Release Form

Heximar® Ointment is available in a convenient 15g tube, suitable for external use only.

Composition

Each gram of Heximar® Ointment contains:

• Calcipotriol anhydrous IP – 50 mcg
• Ointment base – q.s.

Contraindications

Heximar® Ointment should not be used in the following cases:

• Hypersensitivity to calcipotriol or any auxiliary component of the preparation
• Pregnancy and lactation
• Children up to age 18
• Diseases associated with impaired calcium metabolism
• Psoriasis of the scalp in the acute stage
• Spotted, erythrodermic, exfoliative, and pustular psoriasis
• Renal insufficiency or acute liver failure
• Viral, fungal, or bacterial skin infections
• Cutaneous manifestations of tuberculosis or syphilis
• Rosacea, perioral dermatitis, acne vulgaris, ulcers, sores, and genital itching
• Skin atrophy
• The fragility of the skin vessels

Caution should be exercised in the following cases:

• Hypercalcemia
• Hypercalciuria
• Hypervitaminosis D
• Nephrolithiasis
• Age over 65 years

Side Effects

The most common side effect of Heximar® Ointment is local skin irritation. Other possible side effects include erythema, itching of the skin, dermatitis, exacerbation of psoriasis, hyperpigmentation, hypercalciuria, hypercalcemia, photosensitivity, and hypersensitivity reactions. Precautionary measures should be taken to avoid contact with the scalp, face, and mucous membranes of the mouth. Patients should limit or avoid excessive exposure to sunlight. Using the ointment in doses higher than recommended may cause increased blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia). Heximar® Ointment should not be used together with topical preparations containing salicylic acid.

Dosage and How to Use

• Consult a physician before using Heximar® Ointment.
• Apply a small amount directly to the affected area 1-2 times a day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 15 grams, and the maximum weekly dose should not exceed 100 grams.
• The treated area should not exceed 30% of the body surface.
• Wash your hands after application.
• The recommended period of treatment is 4 weeks.
• A second course should be agreed upon with a doctor.

Shelf Life

Heximar® Ointment has a shelf life of 24 months.

• Store the ointment at temperatures up to 30°C.
